Industrial concrete floors

PI 2000 has over 20 years of experience in the realization of industrial concrete floors using the most technologically advanced methodologies in the industry.

Combining the experience to the dictates of the regulations in force, we are able to operatively satisfy even the most demanding requirements of metal, food, pharmaceutical chemistry, industry processing in general and logistics.

The concrete floor is the primary support on which are held all production activities of a company, and it is therefore important that its implementation is carefully designed and customized according to the specific intended use, providing a “turn-key service” to its customer.

P.I. 2000 produces high strength concrete floors, using an armature with complete welded meshes of lattice spacers and shielding quartz coatings.

The construction phases

In order to achieve a concrete pavement you follow the following steps:

  1. Preliminary analysis: the processing is preceded by careful preparation of the plans and the verification of flatness;
  2. Reinforcing: the first stage involves the laying of the welded mesh and the appropriate mesh overlaps;
  3. Pose: subsequently the laying of concrete occurs in appropriate dosages and particle size for the average thickness established;
  4. Straight edge: the straight edge of the concrete is done by hand or with a laser screed machine
  5. Mechanical compaction: using helical smoothing machines we perform the mechanical finishing to obtain a smooth and homogeneous surface;
  6. Finish: ensuring a high resistance surface finish is done with dusting of quartz hardeners;
  7. Expansion joints: the last phase is dedicated to the formation of the expansion and contraction joints by means of mechanical cutting and subsequent sealing of the same with or sheathed in PVC resins according to law.

Laser screed technology

Laser Screed is a new technology for the production of industrial concrete floors.

The laser screed machine with computerized control allows to prop up and vibrocompact concrete pavements with a high precision, eliminating all the problems due to manual laying of concrete and bringing a paving to absolute quality levels.

Flooring without joints

It is possible to create floors in the absence of cuts, also called post-tensioned continuous pavings. Post-tensioning is a technology that derives from the construction of large engineering and architectural works and it has been applied to industrial flooring to eliminate future costs and inconveniences arising from extraordinary maintenance floor works.

It is often required in the food industry, for logistical and automated storage warehouses; this technology is also applicable on slabs and in presence of radiant heating.

Flooring in structural fibers

The flooring can be added with semi-structural and structural fibers for the reinforcement of concrete and mortars.

They are divided into:

  • Fibers in structural steel
  • Structural Synthetic fibers
  • Secondary reinforcement fibers with anti-shrinkage function compound

The fibers act by improving the structure of the conglomerate increasing mechanical performance, ductility and reducing the formation of cracks.

Structural fibers are ideal for the reinforcement of highly stressed structures structures in bending and shear as industrial floors of workshops, warehouses and steel industries, airport runways, parking lots, roads, highways, parking areas and handling of goods, prefabricated elements and earthquake-resistant structures, “joint-less” industrial pavings , etc …

Colored concrete floors

The industrial concrete floors with quartz dusting finish can be manufactured in a wide variety of colors, thanks to organic and inorganic pigments added in the jet finishing layer.

The phases include:

  • Polishing with diamond tools.
  • Coloring of the concrete by permanent action micronized pigments.
  • Treatment and surface sealing by chemical hardeners, which increase density and durability of the concrete. .

Washed gravel effect concrete floors

The washed gravel effect concrete floor is very spectacular, ideal for decorating and customize outdoor spaces trough a variety of colors, designs and finishes.

The use of grits and stone chipping aggregates of various sizes and particle size allows to obtain a wide range of architectural and chromatic effects in full compliance with environmental balance.

Design mix

All mixes are prepared using ad hoc mixtures and design mixes of our own design, based on the requirements of the designer.

The mixture project takes into account various factors such as workability, mechanical strength and the degree of durability.

Our blends use only top-quality products that allow us to create unique color effects and provide the full guarantee of a job that fully responds to the request of the buyer.

How to created a printed floor

  1. Drafting of the selected mix in thicknesses from 2 to 5 cm
  2. Leveling and smoothing of the surface
  3. Application of specific additives
  4. Drying of the surface, within 12-24 hours, with a pressure washer
  5. Application of protective resin

What are the applications

Stone washed effect concrete floor is ideal for swimming pools, driveways, streets, sidewalks, parks, theme parks, pedestrian areas, car parks, roundabouts and all street furniture works.

All the advantages

Due to its low thickness it can be applied on existing concrete screeds, it is very durable, accessible to vehicles and water-repellent as well as practical and quick to apply.

It is a practical and lasting solution, ideal for elegant exterior surfaces, of great effect and at a low cost.

Draining flooring

A pavement in pervious concrete is the ideal solution for all the areas that must maintain the requirements of permeability of the soil but require a driveway paving resistant to passage of cars.

That’s why draining floors meet the following technical and aesthetic requirements:

  • Pedestrian areas
  • Cycle paths
  • Parking yards
  • Sports facilities
  • Areas subject to environmental protection

In fact the high draining power allows the outflow of more than 30 liters of water per second per square meter; a positive response to requests by technical offices or zoning provisions on the permeability coefficients of some areas.

Design mix

The floors will be performed by designing a specific design mix for the specific project. The mixture is supplied ready for laying.

Colours

The mixture can be coloured according to the requests by the addition of special coloured pigments.

It can also strengthen the final color by the use of colored finishing resins without compromising the permeability index of the entire floor.

We realize strips for car parks and every type of road markings.

Advantages

There are several advantages in choosing a draining floor, here are some main aspects:

  • High draining capacity
  • High resistance
  • Natural and customizable appearance
  • Drive over after only three days after laying
  • Low environmental impact
  • Fast implementation
  • Resistant to ice, fire and hydrocarbons
  • It speeds up snow and ice melting process
  • No contraction joint
